My weekend in Rome was catastrophic to say the least. Despite being only too aware of the city’s notoriety for theft I managed to have my precious M9 with beloved 28mm (a companion for 27 years!) & viewfinder ‘fished’ from my camera bag on a crowded bus. I won’t bore anyone with the details except that the Billingham Hadley Pro bag, with it’s normally virtuous easy access of contents, is really not a good choice for such a light-fingered city.
Once the camera was stolen I lost the heart to take any more pictures apart from one on the Ricoh of this excellent fish restaurant (a tree grows through the middle!). Situated in a smart suburb, it was where we tried to cheer ourselves up on Sunday night.
